Do I need an account to use Purpurri Transfer?

No, no account is needed, either to send or to receive. You upload the files, create the link (or send it by email), and that's it.

How much can I send for free?

Up to 5 GB per transfer, free. You can send whole folders and many files in a single link. If your email rejects an attachment that's too large, read our guide.

How many transfers can I send per day?

Accepted Answer

You can send several times a day, no account needed. To keep the service free and ad-free there is a generous daily limit, which resets every day.

How long does a link stay active?

14 days from sending. At expiry the link stops working and the files and transfer data are automatically deleted.

Does the recipient need to sign up?

No. Whoever receives the link can download the files directly, with no account and no data left behind.

Can I protect a link with a password?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's an optional feature. The password is never stored in plain text: only a hashed version is kept, so even we can't read it.

How are my files protected?

Files travel over an HTTPS/TLS connection and are stored encrypted (AES-256). The link is unique and unguessable, you can add an optional password and get a notice at the first download. Files are deleted automatically when the link expires. For an extra layer you can encrypt the file before sending it, with any tool.

Where are the files stored?

On cloud infrastructure from external providers, only for as long as the link is valid. At expiry the files and transfer data (file name, date, size, any emails and hashed password) are deleted. The services used are detailed in the Privacy Policy.

Can anyone at Purpurri Transfer browse my files?

Accepted Answer

There's no admin feature to browse files uploaded by users. Infrastructure access is limited to what's needed for technical maintenance.

Are the download and stats pages indexed on Google?

Accepted Answer

No. They are excluded from search engines (noindex and robots.txt), and every transfer also has a long, random ID that is practically impossible to guess.

Are files scanned for viruses or malware?

Accepted Answer

Not at the moment: there is no automatic antivirus/malware scan. We do block the upload of some dangerous executable file extensions. Only download from senders you trust.

Can I know when someone downloads my files?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's optional: by turning on "Email me when it's downloaded" you get an email the first time the files are downloaded. Each transfer also keeps a count of downloads.

Do you use the emails you collect for marketing?

Accepted Answer

Emails tied to a transfer (sender, recipient, download alert) are only used for that transfer and are deleted along with it. If you sign up to "stay updated" instead, we use that email to send you product news: you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to invii@purpurri.com.

After expiry, are copies of my files kept anywhere?

No. Files and transfer data are automatically deleted after expiry, with a daily cleanup. Only technical logs without the content of your files remain: download logs (date, country and device) for up to 180 days, and anti-abuse counters as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Who owns the files I send?

Accepted Answer

You do. Whoever uploads a file remains its sole owner; we just host it temporarily so you can share it.

Is there content I can't upload?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You may not upload illegal content, material that infringes copyright or harms third parties, or anything that violates applicable law. Using the service means accepting this condition.

Can I re-download an expired transfer?

Accepted Answer

No. Once the 14 days are up, the link and its files are deleted and cannot be recovered in any way.

How do I report a suspicious or illicit transfer?

Write to us at invii@purpurri.com with the link (or transfer ID) and the reason for the report: we'll look into it and disable access if needed.
